On September 1st, a photo was shared on Facebook showing Bret beginning his day in hospital before ending it in a familiar place – behind the broadcast booth at Skylands Stadium. This image captured so much more than just a moment; it encapsulated his spirit and dedication to not only his job but also to all those who tuned into each game.
His words often carried considerable weight: “You want to…” These unfinished sentiments speak volumes about what drove him – ambition, passion for sportscasting, love for baseball.
Bret had become part of many family routines throughout Sussex County; families would gather around their radios or televisions listening intently as he brought life to every play-by-play action on field during Miner games.
